Interview with Ava Fern
· When did you start photographing?
When I was about 12 or 13 years old
· When did you get your first camera and what kind was it?
My first real camera was a 1976 Minolta XE-5, fully manual 35mm that I inherited from my dad back in '97. I only used it for a short time though, but still have it today.
· What got you interested in photography?
I just always liked the ability to freeze time and look back at past times or memories.
· What is your favorite thing to photograph?
Well weddings though most people are scared away by all the pressure I like doing them because you are taking photos of the bride and grooms most important day in there lifes.
· What kind of camera do you currently use?
A Cannon 7D
· What do you think the world would be like without photography?
the world was a much different place before the first photographs were taken in the 1820s. I wouldn't say the world was less creative, there were artists long before photography existed. But I think photography made a huge contribution to art and creativity.
· How has cameras changed since you have taken up photography?
From film to digital and having to wait to see the pictures after they get processed to now days where you can pick and chose what photographs you even want to print, and that you can see what you have taken right after you take the photo.
